Mindful Meditation Glimpses to be Aware Instantly and to practice throughout the day.

Mindfulness is not only achieved during meditations where you sit and gaze into the open or into the space behind your eye lids. It can be achieved through simple glimpses / practices that can take as little as 2-5 seconds while doing practically anything. These simple but straight forward glimpses can help you come back to the NOW and be fully aware and in the present while you are operating or even reading this post.

I’ve listed a couple of simple but affective glimpses that anyone can do.

#1 : Be aware of space

  • Start by becoming aware of your thoughts on bring that attention to hearing sounds coming from around you into your ears.

  • Bring your focus to the simple sensation of hearing.

  • Start by focusing on the vibrations of sounds in a small area. Then expand that awareness to the sounds coming from all around. All coming and going.

  • Notice the movement of the sounds through space.

  • Notice the effects of awareness of space.

#2 : Follow the breath to awareness

  • Start by becoming aware of your thoughts and thinking and have it move to the sensation of breathing through your nostrils and focus on the point in your nostrils that is between your eyes.

  • As you breathe sense the breath toughing the nostrils in that areas as you breath in and out.

  • Bring your attention to the breathe and focus on your breathing. Nothing else until your attention gives out.

  • Try this a few times a day and bring your attention to the moment whenever you feel disconnected.
