Mindful journaling

Do you ever write through out your thoughts? If so, did you find it helpful and calming?

A lot of times, writing out your thoughts can help through tough times and even through times of bliss.

Whenever you decide to set aside a 20-50 minute chunk of time (a pomodoro) to write down your thoughts it can be called mindful journaling. Usually done best with a pen and paper but don’t let that get in your way. Typing your notes on a computer or tablet can do just the trick. Start by writing out your thoughts. Really just write what comes to your mind. Don’t stop writing. Once you can build a cadence, you will find the flow effortless. Until then, don’t give up and dont stop writing one word after the other. Try to hold that flow. The conscious stream of thoughts coming out onto the paper through the words your brain rambles on.

Once you get into flow, guide your thoughts with awareness and remember.. don’t stop writing.

After a little practice and a strong cadence / rhythm, your stream of thoughts will come onto the paper seamlessly and consciously and you will become more aware of your thoughts and reasons behind them.

Through the power of writing explore your decisions, your struggles, and your accomplishments. Journaling will help either guide you or explore other possibilities. Just give it a try.
